Hawkeye Gamers Club is a student club devoted to gamers of all types: we play FPS, RTS, MMO, and other assorted three letter abbreviations you may or may not have known. This club has been active over ten years and could be one of the more active clubs on campus. We are seeing a growing group of board game players for games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, etc. Card game players grow as well and play Magic The Gathering to deck building games like Legendary and Ascension.
The Hawkeye Gamers Club has been around for many years and was formed as a way to get students together and socialize. Each year, we grow and grow, and now are a well-established, active, and officially recognized club at Hawkeye Community College! Come join us! We have a presence in a Facebook group and a Discord server for constant engagement.
Our members come from all kinds of gaming backgrounds and interests. Some are into fast-paced video games, others show up for board games, card games, tabletop sessions, or whatever sounds fun that event. What ties the group together is a shared interest in gaming, hanging out, and making it easy for new people to join in without feeling like they already need to know everyone.
Officers of the Hawkeye Gamers Club are what make the events possible. Those who are officers run events, complete necessary club obligations, and moderating our social media places. We have a presence in a Facebook group and a Discord server.
MONTHLY / 48 HOUR EVENT
The Hawkeye Gamers Club hosts a monthly overnight gaming event during the school year, giving members up to 24 hours of nonstop fun. In May, the club holds an extended 48-hour gaming event, where it gives away more than $1,000 in prizes.
WEEKLY MEETUPS
Members can always show up to our weekly meetings either in the black hawk facility, or in the discord call! This ensures flexibility for everyone, allowing you to participate regardless of your physical location or schedule constraints.
HAVE FUN
Look out for our periodic social events, which include Dungeons & Dragons nights and collaborations with other clubs. You can also find fellow members connecting and playing online games together in our dedicated server!
